Veterans Tea & Banter Group Calling all Veterans. Join us on the 1st Tuesday of each month

Calling all Veterans…….Sunnybank House care home in Eastleigh is holding its inaugural Veterans’ Tea and Banter Group on Tuesday 7 November at 2.30pm.

Our luxury care home on Botley Road, home to a number of veterans, is opening up its doors to people in the area who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. They will be providing tea and cake – free of charge – and an opportunity for people who have served in the Armed Forces to enjoy spending time together, sharing experiences and forging new friendships.

Sunnybank House Veterans’ Tea and Banter group will take place on a monthly basis – the 1st Tuesday of each month – at 2.30pm. All veterans are welcome to attend, on a regular or ad hoc basis.

Kay Mitchell, General Manager, Sunnybank House said, “We are honoured to have several veterans living in our home, including two over the age of 100 who served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two, a 90-year-old lady who served in the Royal Navy, and a number who served in who have served in the Army.

“We know that many who have served over the years miss the comradeship of being in a regiment and can often feel lonely and isolated when they enter civvy street. We have created this group to enable veterans to spend time together, to talk about memories of when they served and to make new friends. We look forward to welcoming them to our home – and we know that our veteran residents are very much looking forward to it too!”

There is no need to reserve a space, you can simply turn up to Sunnybank House on Botley Road on Tuesday 7th November.
